The Erika Roman Memorial Foundation's mission is to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by children in foster care, and to solicit funding to support those programs that enrich their lives.
As a foster child, Erika Roman understood that being a role model to children in foster care, and mentoring them, would be crucial for their emotional and educational development. Erika's dream was fulfilled, and through her legacy the Foundation will support those programs that provide a nurturing environment to children in foster care in order to inspire them to achieve their goals - "to live their own dream".
Funding will be solicited by hosting events that may include concerts, award galas, and inspirational speeches given by guest speakers or Board Members. These funds will then be distributed to those local, regional, and national foster care programs that best embody Erika Roman's passion for excellence in foster care services."
We are currently in the infancy stage of developing our non-for-profit website and researching local Foster Care mentoring programs. We anticipate on evolving into a vital foundation garnering success as one of the lead foundations in raising awareness and funds, facilitating and conveying to children the quality of life they so richly deserve through mentoring programs.
